Weekend with some of our family

We had a nice weekend with Mom, Dad, my sister and her family and Derek, Amy, and Cooper. Tyler and Lauren had to be out of town for Tyler's work, so they missed being with us. I would have taken more pictures had they been able to be with us!! Saturday, Cooper and Derek came over to hang out while Amy cut hair at her parents' house. Cooper had a chance to meet Jenna, and really liked her. We think this is his first experience with a big dog and Jenna is a good one for that.

This pic might be a little confusing, since it looks like Gpa Dale is giving Cooper a doggie treat!!

Mom and Dad spent all day Saturday with us and stayed the night. We had an accidental phone call in the night that woke everyone upstairs up, but everyone got back to sleep! The speed dial cell phones kind of create weird circumstances sometimes. Our answering machine picked up the call and loud music from a local bar played over our phone. Don't worry, it's no one any of you know!! It was nice to have Mom and Dad stay with us enroute to Arizona for the winter.

My sister and her family also spent the day with us, but went home around 6:30 pm. We all looked at pictures from the good ole days when Derek, Tyler, and Mallory were kids, Megan and Trey were toddlers and Ryan and Drew were babies....Mikiah came after that! Poor Mik feels sad to see all the pictures of our past and wonders why she isn't in them. She doesn't understand that there were 19 years of marriage and 18 of them with kids before she was born.

Tradition passed on to the next generation. Derek is showing a fun stunt that Dale always did with him when he was a baby. Derek had plenty of chances to watch Daddy do this with Tyler, Mallory, Trey, Drew, and Mikiah over the years. I knew Cooper would be doing this with Derek as soon as it was possible. They've been doing it for a while now. Cooper was really hamming it up by clapping for himself!! His other cute pose is that he hangs on to his own shirt with both hands like he is hanging on for dear life!!

Mikiah took Derek down to the dress up box, which Derek commented on the fact that some of the clothes he and Tyler used are still in there!! This crazy wig was something that came in the box after Derek and Tyler, so Derek brought it upstairs to show Cooper. He's a pretty good sport!!
