Note from Debbie

The next 4 posts covers the pictures I took at Christmas. It was pretty slim, but I was a crazed cooking maniac in the kitchen. I tried to cover all the memories I had growing up, so I made things that reminded me of my Mom and I made things that reminded me of my Mom-in-law! It shouldn't have been that hard, but it was!! Mom and Neva make it look so much easier.

I did some cooking the day before, but I was also babysitting that day and ran some errands too....We made the 3 salads and pies that day. I made homemade pizza for our supper that night as well. The next morning, Christmas morning, I made Monkey bread for everyone and started the turkey and the ham. We spent 8 am to 10:30 am laughing and opening gifts. I enjoyed this time so well, that I forgot I was cooking! From 10:30am to 2pm I was trying to get food out. You would think that after 6 children, almost 30 years of marriage, grandmother of one.....I'd have it all under control. We ate and it was good, but it was one hour late and I didn't get the bread made....

Next year I am trying to think how to enjoy the family and make food. We'll see if I get it figured out.

I hope you enjoy the posts I have!!!

Hey Deb - I don't do my big meal on Christmas at lunch time. I do it around 4 or 5pm so I can enjoy the morning and not have to cook. Then I spend all afternoon cooking. We just live on cookies & fudge until dinner time. This year the Hatfields came over & we didn't eat until 7pm or so. That was too late!!
