Mik's 5 year prayer answered!!

About 5 years ago, Mikiah started asking for her own pet. We really had to work through this because after 28 years of marriage, (18 years of having our children), we have had our share of pets!! Through them all, dogs, cats, fishes, cameleons, gerbils, a hedgehog with an attitude, and bearded dragons, we've never had a successful house dog.

Mikiah really wanted a house dog, but on days when she was really impatient, she would beg for an old, stray tom cat in the neighbor's yard to be her long hoped-for pet. Also, any dog who just happened to be out for some fresh air, Mik would be looking for the collar and tags.....thinking it was up for grabs with no collar. It has been a long wait....but well worth it!!!

Introducing our newest member...a puppy with no name! Everyone had been giving their own ideas for this sweet little girl dachshund's name. Mikiah seems to be leaning towards either Bella, Mocha, or Jasmine (Jazzie). She is waiting for Mallory to get home from the Mexico missions trip to make the final decision.

Everyone is loving this precious little girl. She is one of Tim and Cheri Bauer's puppies. We found out that they had a new litter of puppies when Cooper was blogged meeting them earlier this week. I mentioned it to Dale.....and the rest is history! Mik bought her with her own money, so all she needed was Daddy's "ok". She has been saving for years for this!!

The puppy slept well last night, but Mik was still up early with her. The Bauer's did a good job of getting the training started ahead of time for us!! No accidents last night!! Thanks, Tim and Cheri! After church today, Mikiah and puppy took a little nap together.

For those of you who remember our Golden Retriever puppy business, Mikiah was a new born when we were winding down on selling Copper and Jenna's puppies. She really missed out on all the puppy fun, so I give thanks to the LORD for this blessing for her!!
